Becoming a Nu2 download mirror
To become a nu2 download mirror you must mirror all files from nu2.nu,
not just a few. The disk space for this is less then 100mb.
My partner Henk makes music, so there are also a few (legal) mp3 files in the
download area.
You
must use rsync on your web server to synchronize the download
files. This means that you must have administrator control over your
web server so you can schedule the synchronization. Rsync is an open source
utility that provides fast incremental file transfer. To synchronize the
files with nu2.nu you must authenticate. Rsync requires very little or no
administration once setup correctly.
I don't know exactly how much traffic your mirror will pull. The faster the
link the higher you will get in the download list and the more traffic you
will pull.
